Subject: friends and influence

Trygve Bauge says cryonicists need friends and allies, and suggests ways to
gain them, such as joining the local chamber of commerce and hosting a meeting
each year, or organizing an annual festival, or providing a periodic community
service.

Of course others also from time to time have pointed out that it is sometimes
more important to be likable than to be right. As always, who will do it and
who will pay for it, on a scale likely to be effective?

I don't know the answers, but I do agree some kind of effort should be made
beyond what we are already doing.

Sometimes it's surprisingly easy and relatively cheap. Mae and I got some

valuable members just by taking them to dinner. Throwing a party isn't expensive
in the grand scheme of things, and semi-celebrity guests would help.
