X-Message-Number: 24035 References: <> From: Steve Jackson <> Subject: Reputation and Rating Own Messages Date: Mon, 3 May 2004 09:30:37 -0500 (1) I'm glad to see that the filtering is up and running. Usually when I rate a message, though, there have been fewer than ten other raters. Disappointing that there is not wider participation. (2) What would be the point of allowing someone to rate his own messages? The point of this exercise is to compile a reputation score, which is based on others' opinions of each poster's messages. The poster's own opinion is hardly relevant, especially since our problem posters are unlikely to recognize their own spamminess, or to admit it if they recognize it. Am I missing a key issue here?
