Excised? You mean censored from the daily digest. The natural right of free
speech is guaranteed every person that he may reach the minds of willing
listeners and to do so there must be opportunity to win their attention. In
any place where a man cannot call his tongue his own, he can scarce call
anything his own. At the heart of natural rights lies the principle that
each person should decide for himself or herself the ideas and beliefs
deserving of expression, consideration, and adherence.

Freedoms are most in danger when anyone seeks to control thought or to
justify its rules for that impermissible end. The right to think is the
beginning of freedom, and speech must be protected because speech is the
beginning of thought.

The chess board is the world, the pieces are the phenomena of the universe,
the rules of the game are what we call the laws of nature and conquering
death is the basic intelligence test in the physical universe. But it is not
the strongest of the species that survives, it is not the smartest that
survives, it is the one most adaptable to change.
