(The point of this exercise is to compile a reputation score,
which is based on others' opinions of each poster's messages. The
poster's own opinion is hardly relevant, especially since our problem
posters are unlikely to recognize their own spamminess, or to admit it
if they recognize it. Am I missing a key issue here?)

I believe so, the larger issue is that if all mankind minus one, were of one
opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be
no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the
power, would be justified in silencing mankind.

The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is
robbing the human race, and indeed posterity as well as the existing
generation, those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who
hold it. If the opinion is right, we are deprived of the opportunity of
exchanging error for truth, and if wrong, we lose, what is almost as great a
benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced
by its collision with error.

The chess board is the world, the pieces are the phenomena of the universe,
the rules of the game are what we call the laws of nature and conquering
death is the basic intelligence test in the physical universe. But it is not
the strongest of the species that survives, it is not the smartest that
survives, it is the one most adaptable to change.
