Subject: custom liposome design and production

Cryofolk,

I have occasionally mentioned my notion that an
advanced cryoprotectant protocol might make use of
liposomes as delivery vehicles; liposomes with
(1)active surface elements specifically designed to
overcome trans-membrane transport difficulty and (2)to
match the cryoprotectant mix to each individual
target-cell type.

Today, I found this article:

RNAi delivery system crosses blood-brain barrier to
target brain cancer

...which I found on Eurekalert at:

http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2004-06/aafc-rds052604.php

...wherein the researchers seem to have accomplished
exactly this sort of custom liposome production:
custom active surface elements, and custom payload.

Thought it might be worth mentioning.

Best, Jeff Davis
