It claims the whole brain must get recycled about every other month. And
contrary to traditional theory, information in the brain is dynamically
distributed in patterns rather than located in synapses, recent neuroscience
research such as fluorescent tagging has found.

In some cases, this turnover is even faster: the half-life of a microtubule
is just ten minutes and the actin filaments in dendrites can need replacing
within 40 seconds.
