X-Message-Number: 2433 From: Ralph Merkle <> Subject: CRYONICS BioPreservation/Alcor meeting Date: Thu, 7 Oct 1993 10:34:36 PDT Charles Platt recently mentioned the meeting between Alcor and Biopreservation. I attended the meeting. For various reasons, it is inappropriate to discuss particulars. Many issues were raised, including the ones alluded to by Charles. I have not been able to consider the issues in sufficient depth to feel comfortable with a specific opinion. I hope to rectify this in a few weeks. In the meantime, there is much constructive work to be done. Different people have different ideas about exactly which activities are most constructive, but I think it has become increasingly apparent that ad hominem attacks and internal feuding have a generally adverse impact on cryonics as a whole. The formation of cohesive subgroups that wish to work together on common objectives seems more fruitful. Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=2433
