Typically, one declares independence from something or someone. Since one major point in cryonics is that death is a process that can be arrested, this sends the wrong message. As a number of persons have suggested, a celebration would best match up with a preexisting one at an appropriate natural time of the year. I don't see how a declaration of independence is the appropriate model. Physical Immortality is the house organ of a Church. A declaration of independence would presumably indicate a split from a mother organization. Lacking this angle, I don't see that it makes any sense. The end of the text seems along the lines of the earlier proposed "Life-Pact". dss David S. Stodolsky SpamTo: Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=24354
