Subject: praise for Michael Price

Hi everyone!

As I understand from his correspondence with me, Michael Price is much
less interested in cryonics now and more interested in means to increase
lifespan. Regardless of whether or not you think this is a rational
approach, he does have access to lots of interesting information about
current possible treatments for aging. His latest one on niacin and
Alzheimer's comes, I believe, from LIFE EXTENSION originally, but
that's not important. He comes up with lots of interesting stuff
and I hope that he continues to report it on Cryonet.

As for the situation of a cryonicist in the early stages of Alzheimers,
things at least now look quite grim. There are treatments under
investigation which may allow much earlier diagnosis and thus attempts
at suspension before the victim has become officially "dead". The
problem with Alzheimer's is that victims really die years before
current medicine gets round to noticing that they're dead ie. their
cortex has been destroyed while they remain officially "alive". After
all, who needs their brain cortex if their heart still beats!

Best wishes and long long life for all,

                   Thomas Donaldson
