For Doug Skrecky:

Perhaps I read it wrong; and I don't keep cryonet messages. However
I did read you as suggesting DMSO. If I read the message wrong I

As I expect that you've noticed already, there are many possible
protectant solutions which could be investigated. Fahy and Wowk have
worked out a simple elimination test to eliminate those that are
unlikely to work. Quite valuable.

As for your suggestion, if you got it from one of Greg Fahy's
papers I'd very much like to know the citation. I have a pile of
his papers but don't recall any suggestion about ETSO. Of course
the value of a cryoprotectant should be judged by how well it works
in practice. I will look through their papers to see myself if
I have one that makes that suggestion.

Best wishes and long long life for all,

                    Thomas Donaldson
