True, but the vast majority of those existing lines of stem cells are no 
longer viable, therefore that federal funding is all but useless.  If some 
of the speeches, notably the one by Ron Reagan, at the Democratic 
convention reflect party policy, then we can expect some loosening of 
restrictions to federal money for new lines of stem cells, if the 
administration changes after the November 2 elections.
