Who was frozen before Bedford under >"un-controlled" conditions? A still-unidentified woman from the Los Angeles area was frozen by the Phoenix, Arizona-based Cryocare Equipment Corporation (not the same as the more recent CryoCare) on April 22, 1966. (James Bedford was frozen Jan. 12, 1967 by the Cryonics Society of California.) I understand this woman had first been embalmed and was stored in a mortuary refrigerator for about 2 months prior to freezing. Relatives had her thawed and buried less than a year later.
