A sensible solution to maintaining a supply of oil would be to divert all
the money spent on trying in influence politics in oil producing countries
(including wars) to developing the infrastructure needed for a hydrogen or
other alternative fuel technology.

If this were to happen, the change in attitude would surely be beneficial to
other technological achievements, such as cryonics. So far this millennium
has been one of destruction and negativity - some grand, positive, project
is needed.

Unfortunately it is more likely that someone will genetically modify pigs so
that they can fly.
