I'm currently working on a website which will be dedicated to the history of
cryonics. I'm slowly scanning pictures, documents and audio files to be uploaded
onto the webspace. The material I have comes from Robert Nelson and it contains
just about everything you can imagine from the early years of cryonics from
early CSC member's medic alerts to pictures of James bedford's perfusion. I'm
hoping that others in the cryonics community will contribute material as well.

I know enough to get the files uploaded into the web space but I don't know how
the heck to build a web site. I'm looking for a volunteer who can write HTML and
is willing to contribute assistance in building the site. If you are
interrested, please email me at The history of cryonics is
filled with colorful, dedicated people and lots of great stories. I think the
site would be of great interrest to cryonicists and the general public.

I've included a link to a photo in this message to give an example of the
interresting material we will be sharing on the site. This is a picture of Terry
Harris and his mother, Mildred Harris. Mildred Harris was frozen and stored by
the CSC and was in the capsule that failed while Robert Nelson was away in New
York. Around one year after she was frozen, Terry and Dennis Harris arranged for
a viewing, which Robert Nelson accomodated. This picture was taken during that
viewing. As with any picture, there is a rich story behind this one. Dennis was
a very enthusiastic cryonisist and started his own cryonics society with the
help of the CSC. He even had his father dug up after being burried for a year
and had him shipped to California to be with his mother. He wanted his father
frozen and suspended as well, but he couldn't talk Robert Nelson and Joseph
Klockgether into it. Terry was also quite gay. Robert Nelson has some film
footage of Terry applying make-up to his mother before the viewing. We will
eventually get that footage digitized and uploaded.

Here's the picture: http://frozenheros.com/images/harris02.jpg

The purposes of the future website are to celebrate the rich history of
cryonics, educate people on the enormous efforts that went into getting the
cryonics movement going, entertainment and the preservation of important
historic material. I look forward to your participation in and enjoyment of the
site.
