Subject: Quale Extensions

Dear Robert:

requirement. I postulate (and as far as I can see, current physics
allows it) that there is no film-frame universe, but rather every
physical system and event is spread out, with extension in space
and time. Thus I overlap, and can at least partly identify with,
my predecessors and successors or continuers--but not with
disjoint copies, however similar otherwise."

This is the core (but not entirety) of my own way of stating
survival: that the changes of the brain do not destroy its capacity
for experiencing qualia, which assures personal survival.

I do think, the advantage of this terminology, is that it allows me
to easily explain why the me of last night is the me of today, even
though, during the night, I did not experience anything (if I did
not dream). I think it might be more difficult with your
terminology.

Best Regards,

Richard B. R.
