Subject: Valera & Cryonics Policy
From: <>

Excellent response to Yvan, Valera, I highly agree.

I also agree with your comments on policy. Especially now that more
employees of cryonics organizations are coming forward with their
pro-uploading, pro-death views.

We need policies that state that (1) we will not be uploaded,
either destructively or otherwise, and (2) the repair process will
not involve disassembly or cutting of our brains into pieces. These
policies should apply by default, unless we specifically request
otherwise. Moreover, they should transfer from organization to
organization, wherever possible.

An uploader, once fully repaired, can upon reanimation choose to
end his live by destructive uploading; however, a person who was
destroyed as a result of such a scanning procedure, can never live
again, and therefore has no choice in the matter. Therefore, it
makes sense for the default policy to be repair, and not uploading
or recreation.

Best Regards,

Richard B. R.
