Subject: Advertising Cryonics - parallel with robomowers

I don`t understand why CI or Alcor or even Trans Time does not
advertise on TV, Journals, or web sites with keywords different than
Cryonics. Why not add a younger perspective of cryonics and try to attract
young
people to it? I would love to spend money and risk my money to get more
supporters.
Because the more we are in this the best are our chance to succeed. I
would love to build that with CI in the future. How to attract people
in cryonics? Why not advertise our project worldwide? Like those
products we sell on TV such like Mc Donald or GM or Ford or even
Microsoft? Furthermore 21cm got a research grant of more than 900
000$USD and Dr. Pichugin got 0$USD

When you propose "freezing your brain or your body" at your death in hopes
that future developemnts in technology and medicine will be able to "revive"
you to a vast majority of people it is not an easy thing to sell :o) -
especialy, considering religious, morla, and ethical views of people.

This reminds me of a discussion about robotic mowers -
www.yahoogroups.com/groups/robomower. I started it about 1.5-2 years ago
with just myself and then in 2 years we are up to 735 members with 5-10
people added every week.

Many of us do not understand :o) why people would not want to have a
robotoic mower (in cryonics case why not sign up for cryonics). We came to
the conclusion that
1) not everybody is tech savvy
2) doesn't have money 2-4 times more than regular gas powered mower
3) used to manual mowing
4) has kids to mow
5) "I am fine with my regular mower, thank you!"
6) I need phisical exercise
7) have other prioirties
8) don't care and are in the comfortable grove
9) any other excuses and reasons you can come up with
10) their lot may not work due to topography of the yard
11) THEY JUST DON'T GET IT :o)

Eventually, there is nothing you can do about it besides "soft sell" of the
idea. E.g. I've used the following "robomower related" keywords in the group
at yahoo - many of them are not "robo mower related", but are "gardening
like". -

This group is for discussion of Robotic Lawn Mowers) - they mow your
lawn, you don't! Gotta love this! Join today and learn more! The most widely
spread is FriendlyRobotics series of RoboMower RL500 (or Toro iMow), RL550,
RL800, a newer RL850 and RL1000. We have a couple of owners of Ambrogio
mower, Husqvarna's AutoMower and SolarMower are not that popular.

Share your ideas, videos, web links, and stories, photos of wiring,
slopes of lots, yard layouts for your mower. The discussion group is for
users of Robotic Mowers or RoboMowers (this is a generic term that I think
will eventually take over the industry, just like Xerox became a substitute
for a copy machine). I've read somewhere on the Internet -"Mowing the lawn
is a pain in the [.]ss, there is no human enjoyment or fulfillment to be
had, so we are taking the human out of the equation." JOIN THIS GROUP AND
HAPPY NOT MOWING TO YOU!

Here are web sites for FriendlyRobotics http://www.RoboMower.com,
