Aging is not a developmental process -- if it were then we'd
expect to see some aging-arrested individuals (immortals),
just as we also see ateliosis or developmentally-arrested
individuals.  Suffers from ateliosis don't grow up but they do 
grow old.

Which repeats the above error.  The existence of species
specific maximum lifespans does not mean aging is
"programmed", merely that there is SOME interaction
between our genes and how we age -- which is pretty
obvious.

Time for you to read Steve Austad's "Why We Age"
which critiques the different views of aging from an
historical and scientific viewpoint.
