Subject: yet more for Basie and Skrecky

SOME COMMENTS:

For Basie, umpteenth time:
I can but haven't accessed your web site because, at least to me (I can't
speak for anyone else) your comments have looked weak and beside the
point. But OK, I'll see if I feel the same about your web site as I
do about your cryonet comments.

The fact that young or even infant animals also contain free radicals
is not an argument that free radicals play no role in aging. No animal
metabolizing will fail to produce free radicals. The question is just
how the metabolism of that animal deals with them. Infants particularly
may have a higher proportion of natural antioxidants than adults of
that species. Moreover, the presence of free radicals never instantly
causes death. It causes a breakdown over time. So infants and children
show less breakdown due to free radicals because they're younger than
adults. WHAT A FRIGGING SURPRISE!

For Doug Skrecky:

Warts occur because of an infection. Some cancers may also occur
because of infection by (as yet unknown) microorganisms. The treatment
in the abstract you quote looks quite specific for the microorganisms
producing warts, unfortunately. So if we can find the organism
causing a cancer, we can also find a chemical which works against
it. I think I heard similar arguments at least 30 years ago or more.

Best wishes and long long life for all,

                  Thomas Donaldson
