    JOHN SAID:
"Religions do not promise eternal life to their members. They say that it
exists whether you like it or not, but you will get a better quality of
eternal life if you join their particular brand.

Can anyone name one religion that says people will be annihilated if they do
not join? If anything, they say that they "burn in hell" if they do not
join. However I expect that that particular sort of rhetoric is not
politically correct these days."

DAVID: I won't quibble over words. If your point is correct (I am not granting
that religions don't promosie eternal life to their members) you are still
saying that they state that eternal life exists somewhere as in Heaven. Most
religions guarantee it. I am not sure this is true and I think that religions
promising eternal life exists is a thing that keeps some people from signing up
for cryonics. They think they are going to participate in this Heavenly
eternal life.

I want them to quit saying that this eternal life does exist and to start saying
only that they hope it exists.

Further regareless of what they say, I know for a fact that many people think
that their religion guarantees them eternal life. I want the religions to clear
this up with their followers and put disclaimers in their messages.

David
