I am not totally convinced that the legal system can help our cause, but that aside, to the above statement I would add this comment. If there is no age related damage to individuals, the investment that society as a whole makes in educating its young will go on paying a dividend for a longer period. [I think I first read this in Dr Roy Walford's "Maximum Lifespan". ] In countries where this is paid for by the taxpayer, in whole or in part, it would seem reasonable to expect the government to do all it can to protect its investment, and this would include using science and technology to cure the disease of ageing. I don't know whether there is any precedent in a government buying things to facilitate its duties to the taxpayer, eg vehicles, and then being sued for failing to maintain them properly. -- Sincerely, John de Rivaz: http://John.deRivaz.com for websites including Cryonics Europe, Longevity Report, The Venturists, Porthtowan, Alec Harley Reeves - inventor, Arthur Bowker - potter, de Rivaz genealogy, Nomad .. and more Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=26560
