I am not totally convinced that the legal system can help our cause, but
that aside, to the above statement I would add this comment.

If there is no age related damage to individuals, the investment that
society as a whole makes in educating its young will go on paying a dividend
for a longer period. [I think I first read this in Dr Roy Walford's "Maximum
Lifespan". ] In countries where this is paid for by the taxpayer, in whole
or in part, it would seem reasonable to expect the government to do all it
can to protect its investment, and this would include using science and
technology to cure the disease of ageing. I don't know whether there is any
precedent in a government buying things to facilitate its duties to the
taxpayer, eg vehicles, and then being sued for failing to maintain them
properly.
