Subject: Tru Numberman2: reputation too low? or just right?

Rebert Ettinger's tru name is Robert Ettinger.
Tru Numberman's tru name is ...?

Robert Ettinger says CI's membership number is "over
520 members". Tru Numberman says it's 211. Who ya
gonna believe, the founder of cryonics and the founder
of CI, or someone who won't even use his real name?

Tell ya what I think. I think Tru Numberman has an
agenda, which is to do the pissy--and stealthy yet oh
so transparent--little political dance that cryonet is
famous for: talking trash about CI while boosterizing
for Alcor.

So Tru Namelessman, who are you, really, and are
**you** fully funded, or just a coy, socially
graceless, lurker geek suffering from arrested
development? With advocates like these it's no wonder
cryonics is in a perpetual state of disrepute and
morbidity (there may be a pun in there somewhere).

Personally, I'm a CI member, been paying my life
insurance policy, which I got through Rudi Hoffman,
for four or five years now, payed the $1250 fee last
year to upgrade my membership from option two to
option one. But guess what, I'm a little embarrassed
to admit it, but I still haven't completed my
paperwork. So what does that make me Numberboy, am I
one of the 211, or am I one of the 212 through 520?

And though I'm being just a little pissy my own self,
let me say for the record that I consider the folks at
Alcor and CI to be of noble character--human beings
with all the quirks, feet of clay, etc--but decent
folk, and I make no distinction between them on that
score.

And here's my two cents for the pissing contest...What
percentage of all of Alcor's 68
five-times-as-expensive supensions have been conducted
in a johnny-on-the-spot timely fashion? Like within
30 minutes of the declaration? What percentage of say
just the last ten? Ten? Eight? Six? Two? None?
Try that survey, NamelessOne?

Best, Jeff Davis

hard people try, how much they mind, and how long they
remember."
