If the number of living members went to zero but new death-bed cases kept coming in, that would not be stagnation." This scenario sounds like an organization that is dying out (no pun intended). How would an organization maintain the infrastructure if there were no living members to attend to the daily affairs, not to mention most importantly, who would tend to the patients (and protect them if need be)?! "Incidentally, Ben says the number of CI members is now 540. As far as I recall, the ratio of fully prepared to membership has stayed roughly constant, or perhaps improved a bit, so the growth however measured is about as I said, better than double in the last five years. Measures are being taken to improve the ratio of fully prepared members." I think that it is great that CI has 540 supporters. The bottom line though is the ~211 Suspension Members, who have "put their money where their mouth is", and will take this arduous journey to the future. It would be wonderful if we could turn all 540 into Suspension Members. Best regards, Brent Fox Per Ardua Ad Astra Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=26764
