To become a Member of the Cryonics Institute you must first fill out a membership form and pay a membership fee, either $1,250 for Option One or $120 per year (with $75 initiation fee) for Option Two. In either case, you must fill out a Membership form. The details are outlined on our website: http://www.cryonics.org/membership.html Membership in the Cryonics Institute is a pre-requisite for any cryopreservation arrangements that you might want to make, whether this includes cryopreservation of a tissue sample, DNA, a pet or your own body. Once we have your payment and Membership form, we can use the information on the form to create personalized contracts for you to sign if you want any of our cryopreservation services. You also receive a subscription to THE IMMORTALIST as part of your membership. You cannot expect any cryopreservation services from CI unless you are a CI Member. We need a contract if you want to be cryopreserved. And we will not sign or execute a contract for anyone who is not a CI Member. Unfortunately, we even have CI Members who have funding in place, but who procrastinate and do not complete their paperwork. We cannot provide service for them without executed contracts. The answer to your question: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/dsp.cgi?msg=26834 is NO -- we will not accept you without a contract and Membership, even if funding is place. I don't know if Joe Waynick answered your question: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/dsp.cgi?msg=26859 I cannot speak for Alcor, but I think the same would be true for their organization. Also, posting your request on CryoNet is not a proper place to make such inquiries. I realize that we have stopped answering all of the silly messages that you were e-mailing to us, but we would answer a serious message associated with a serious intention to join the Cryonics Institute. Being a Member would make you "a part of this team called The Cryonics Institute." -- Ben Best, President, Cryonics Institute Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=26917
