Average temperature was 27.6 C during this run. Estimated maximal longevity using the formula (363 - T*11.2) is 54 days. This run retests some supplements which generated very modest hits in the past. In run #1 forskolin at a 10 mg dosage offered the best over-all survival. There was no control group in that run. In run #8 flies fed Kyolic Formula 100 aged garlic extract at a 75 mg dosage outlived the controls by a few days. Were these chance findings, or are they genuine life extension supplements? Forskolin at a 10 mg dosage failed to best the controls in this run, although a lower 2.5 mg did by a few days. Forskolin verdict: It was probably a chance finding. Aged garlic at a 75 mg dosage again beat the controls by a small margin. Verdict: Results are consistent with a modest anti-aging effect. However further testing will be needed before I would be completely convinced. Run #214 is again retesting aged garlic extract. It is interesting that only aged garlic extract appears to be beneficial.
