Subject: 198'th update on fly longevity experiments

This is the 198'th update of my fly longevity experiments. Average
temperature was 27.5 C during this run. Estimated maximal longevity using
 the formula (363 - T*11.2) is 55 days.
In run #85 niacin at 25 mg and 100 mg dosages beat the control.
However in run #88, 100 mg failed to offer any advantage, while 25 mg was
not further investigated. This run looks at the 25 mg dosage again, and
checks to see if the no-flush version of niacin offers any advantage over
plain niacin. Flushing is inhibited by adding a small amount of inositol.
Inositol itself offered no advantage itself in run #159.
Niacin offered no benefit in this run. However survival with no-flush
niacin was slightly improved at day 29 for all niacin dosages. Although
no niacin dependancy for fly aging is apparent, humans seeking to reduce
their cholesterol might be wiser to choose the no-flush varient of
 niacin.
