I've created a draft for consideration:

I will continue to update it based on feedback.

Jordan Sparks

Hello, Jordan and others,

I went to this reference and liked what I saw.

Something of this nature should not be very controversial or divisive to the
cryonics vendors or community. Surely even in our independent minded and
prickly community we can agree on some principals like financial solidity,
accountability, and integrity.

Sparks has simply provided a framework to verbalize what we all intuitively
feel is common sense.

Cryonics vendors and service providers currently operating are, in my
opinion, tremendously honest, well intentioned, and, for lack of better word,
"decent."

The purpose of the Cryonics Board of Standards (Which is a reasonable

working title until we vote/decide on a different one) is to provide assurance
that
this integrity will be maintained as we move forward.

As some wise heads have observed here, this CBS would not, certainly in its
early iteration, delve into every protocol or procedure of the cryonics
vendors.

Spark's CBS version 1.0 has shown that reasonable verbiage can be crafted
that is meaningful without being overly specific or divisive. The concept is

more akin to a "statement of PRINCIPALS" than a "down and dirty, nitty gritty"
scientfically specific document which would devolve into the next version of
the cryowars.

May I respectfully suggest, as have others, that the PURPOSE of the CBS
would be twofold:

1. Prevent or at least attenuate blatant and abusive FRAUD in the name of
cryonics.

2. Proactively DEMONSTRATE to regulators that we in the cryonics community
are actively and effectively DOING number one.

So, Jordan...

Good work.

In closing, please note that I will be at the Atlanta Immortality Institute
Conference on November 5. I will be arriving on the afternoon of the 4th,
Friday, and stay at the event hotel until Sunday the 6th.

I hope to see a number of you there, and we can also discuss this idea.

Although the written format currently used and further refined by you

budding Thomas Jeffersons out there is actually better than even a live meeting
in
some ways, as there is written documentation of all inputs.

Anyway, perhaps the CBS or some version of it will actually fly, although it
still may be to early for this potentially great idea.

Yours for Integrity, and for Centuries,

Rudi Hoffman
