People **may** (and I am not convinced they are in every instance) be
legally entitled to copy press releases and then publish them as their own
work. But responsible, knowledgeable and qualified journalists will add
value to the article (eg by interviewing people and researching around the
subject) if they want to present it as their own work.

I am sure that people who want to post to CryoNet will build a better
reputation if they make their own contribution to such articles totally
clear. There is a value in finding information, there is a value in writing
it. They are different. Maybe CryoNet posters can pat themselves on the back
for finding it, but they should not also encourage people to pat them on the
back for writing it if they did not.
