I don't think that the idea of an "after life" whatever that really means
need be coupled with belief in a supreme being. It could indeed by a
Fyodorovian afterlife, one created by intelligent beings either advanced
humans as in http://www.venturist.org/fyodorov.htm or an alien species, such
as that proposed in the science fiction series Riverworld, by PJ Farmer.
http://www.cryonics.org/riverworld.htm This series of novels is not about
cryonics, of course, but it looks at issues of death, identity,
consciousness and immortality in a technological manner.
