Oh, God. This sounds like the work of Trygve Bauge. Mr. Bauge is a Norwegian national who several years ago went to great lengths to have his grandfather frozen and brought to the U.S. for storage. He recently completed construction of a new home and "cryonics storage facility" in Colorado, and may have taken on another patient in addition to his grandfather (I don't remember for sure). In any case, the INS recently caught up with Mr. Bauge (he was here illegally after his visa expired some years ago) and ordered him deported. Last I heard, he was hiding and attempting to organize a court callenge. Now it looks like the worst has happened. Several years ago there was a debate on CryoNet about the merits of "do-it-yourself" cryonics storage. Somebody was actually suggesting that relatives keep their loved ones on ice in their basements, and that cryonics could work this way. The INS notwithstanding, cryonics CANNOT work this way, and the Bauge debacle is a case in point. --- Brian Wowk [ I think that Brian is referring to the "Proposal for Cheap Freeze" thread in messages 235 236 237 238 239 247 248 252 254 255 256 279 282 which started in Oct. 1990.
