(fwd) Just thought I'd forward the following in case anyone on the list wants to reply. Flames to /dev/null D >Newsgroups: sci.life-extension >From: (Sandy Shin-Yu Lee) >Subject: DEATH - what do you think? >Message-ID: <> >Sender: >Organization: uva >Date: Tue, 10 May 1994 18:57:25 GMT I'm curious - what's your image of death and dying? I'm not trying to be morbid, but I'm trying to get a general feel for the public's opinion about their final hours and maybe the hereafter, if you believe in one. I'm in the medical field, and would like to have a better idea of what kind of beliefs are out there. I apologize for not sticking to the topic at hand, but I couldn't think of a better place to post this -- suggestions are welcome! Please help me... I think it's important that doctors understand that their own personal views are not the only ones out there -- and only then can they be good physicians. 1.) Do you believe in anything after death? 2.) Would you want heroic measures done to you to save your life? (ie. life-support machines, etc.) 3.) Do you believe in suicide? Or physician-assisted suicide? 4.) Would you want a prolonged death, so that you'd have time before you died, or would you prefer an instant passing? 5.) Are you afraid of dying? Any thoughts, comments, answers, etc. extremely welcome and wanted at: All responses will be kept confidential and will help at least one person be a better doctor in the future!!
