Subject: 220'th update on fly longevity experiments

This is the 220'th update of my fly longevity experiments. Average
temperature was 23.6 C during this run. Estimated maximal longevity using
 the formula (363 - T*11.2) is 99 days.
     In runs #121, 123, & 126 white kidney bean at 8% and 12%
concentrations extended maximum longevity. However no benefit was seen in
run #171 when a white kidney bean extract called phaseolamin was tested.
This run tests lower concentrations of phaseolamin, and retests white
 kidney bean itself.
The results were equivocal this time, possibly because an older
breeding bottle was used. With respect to the "control two" bottle both
phaseolamin, and white kidney bean tended to acquit themselves well.
However the longest living fly turned out to be one from the "control
one" bottle. I conclude that if white kidney bean or its phaseolamin
extract are beneficial, then this effect is likely of marginal
 significance.
