You're not serious are you!?
Are you saying that the economics of a country are not affected by the
quality/quantity/accessibility of natural resources? the stability of
the government? the educational/skill level of the citizenry/subjects?

Poor people in poor countries have more children for lots of reasons -
including the need for larger families in agrarian cultures, the lack
of contraception/good sex-ed., higher infant mortality (meaning more
reproduction to make up for the deaths).

This is a bit like saying: giving food to a starving man will only
make him die quicker - i.e. bullshit.

It is not a solution to control family sizes when large families are
one of the few ways the poor can survive. Large families also take
care of the old better. What is needed is security for everyone - how
else can the old be secure?
