X-Message-Number: 28101 From: "Mark Plus" <> Subject: Losing by buying (2nd try) Date: Fri, 23 Jun 2006 10:30:27 -0700 For some reason the text of my original post didn't make it on Cryonet Queue. In Cryonet #28089, John K Clark writes, >When I "vote" in the economy by making a purchase I am sure to get it, I >always win. This doesn't always happen when you buy stocks, real estate and other investments subject to rapid devaluations. And we certainly don't know that we'll "win" by "voting" for cryonics with our money, though cryonics exists in a kind of economic gray area. The market over the last generation has rejected cryonics as a waste of resources, otherwise cryonics organizations could sustain themselves as regular businesses by now. Instead cryonics has hung on precariously through a kind of privately financed command-and-control economy. Manage your risk, not your terror.
