Subject: Aaron Spelling's fortune doesn't do him much good now.

TV producer Aaron Spelling, who recently died from a stroke at age 83,
reportedly had a net worth on the order of several hundred million dollars.
Yet with all his money he couldn't beat the actuarial odds. This demostrates
the hard limits of what you can do with "wealth," as currently defined, when
it comes to what really matters over the long run, namely, individual
survival. The alpha billionaires with net worths an order or two greater
than Spelling's won't do any better under current conditions unless they
radically change their priorities towards finding solutions to aging and
death. Considering that alpha males accumulate and show wealth to advertise
their reproductive fitness, it looks ridiculous to persist in that behavior
well past your 40's.

Manage your risk, not your terror.
