Yvan, I'm afraid you continue to be overly optimistic, and 'uploading' will
continue to be nothing but scifi for at least 100 years. Are you really
taking into account all the things that must be in place for this to be even
a remote possibility? As a very basic start, we must have technology that
can disassemble and map living tissue one atom at a time. Do you realize how
distant this is? We're talking many many orders of magnitude from where we
currently sit. We have not even modeled the most basic neural logic circuit.
I don't think that any hardware or software that we have ever built could be
considered intelligent. True, we may have built computers that perform as
many calculations per second as a cricket, but I don't consider those
computers to have any intelligence, even if scaled up. It's a long long way
from where we need to be. You will die many decades before there is any
significant progress. Uploading is absolutely pointless to discuss.
