X-Message-Number: 2836 Subject: Canadian CRYONICS Pool Party From: (Ben Best) Date: Wed, 29 Jun 1994 02:34:00 -0400 CANADIAN CRYONICS POOL PARTY The Cryonics Society of Canada is having its 1994 annual Pool Party on Saturday, July 16th from 3pm to 7pm. The pool is available for those who wish to swim and some food & drink will be provided, but it won't hurt to bring you favorite drinks & snacks. This is a strictly non-smoking event. A special guest will be cryonicist Paul Wakfer, who is returning to Toronto after working for 2 years in California with Mike Darwin ("the world's most experienced cryonicist"). In California Paul had the opportunity to participate in the cryopreservation ("freezing") of five persons. Paul also played a key role in the formation of the new cryonics organization CryoCare. He founded and continues to head the long-term patient storage organization CryoSpan. Paul's next interest is to get involved with a research project aimed at freezing human brains without loss of viability. This event is open to all persons interested in life extension and cryonics. It is being held at the Toronto home of Cryonics Society of Canada Director Bruce Waugh. Bruce's home is located about ten blocks north of Eglinton, near Avenue Road. Those interested in coming should contact Ben Best to get the exact address -- so we can have an idea how many people to expect. Arrival or departure anytime between 3 pm and 7 pm is fine (the party often runs over-time).
