Indeed this comes as quite a surprise to me too, in my conversations with 
Jerry he made it abundantly clear that he thought cryonic suspension would 
be successful, at least for whole bodies anyway. He was also optimistic 
about neuros, except that he said he thought it would take longer to revive
them. Since he never lied to me or anyone else I know of, what makes you 
think that he would have so adamantly advocated cryonics while thinking that 
his efforts were in vain?
