Subject: New cryonics video available in free download

Hello, Cryoneters,

We have a winner! While it may not be perfect, I have just screened the
most even handed and thorough cryonics documentary perhaps ever filmed.

"Death in the Deep Freeze" is the title of this show, which lasts about 45

minutes. This was forwarded to me by one of my clients. Interestingly, I was
able to see several of my current clients in the video...especially

interesting since they have been clients for years and I have never seen their
faces
until 20 minutes ago.

Gee whiz, I am proud of these people...who come across like intelligent and
highly educated early adopters of a new technology. The tone of the

cryonicists who are profiled shows them as reasonable and well adjusted
individuals.

While some may nitpick about a few elements of the video, it is my view that
the portrayal of cryonics is that of a serious, medical, evidence based

nascent technology. Something smart people should check into and consider for
themselves.

A warm and human face is put on cryonics as the video follows an Alcor

member who is evidently dying of cancer. Anita Riskin is candid with her
health
status, and discusses with remarkable courage and candor the number of

cancerous areas of her body. Interviews with Dr. Michael Riskin highlight the

emotional and softer side of cryonics. Authenticity and emotional immediacy
are
almost painfully evident as the video chronicles the "death" and suspension
of his wife Anita.

There is also clear footage of the actual protocols and surgery at Alcor,

showing in clinical detail the medical interventions the Alcor staff engages in
to generate the best suspension possible. While not for the squeamish, the
integrity and medical professionalism that the Alcor staff bring to the
occasion seemed to me at least to be very reassuring.

We also have excellent explanations of the development in cold temperature
preservation of organs by Dr. Greg Fahy at 21st Century Medicine.

And, of course, the requisite "balance" of a rather lugubrious negator of
cryonics, who is evidently head of the current "cryobiology group."

He makes the usual noises...but is not particularly compelling. Sorry I
forgot his name, but you can make up your own mind about his credibility.

Anyway, make up your own minds...but I feel that this video...and the

ability to send the link to anyone who has a reasonably good net
connection...will
be a large plus for cryonics.

I intend to forward this to several people who are considering cryonics.

Warmly and Professionally Yours, For Centuries,
