Subject: Blogs, "Flogs," and Exaggerated Self-Importance

My general impression of blogs has been that it takes a certain obscure
subcategory of type A personality to engage in them. Personally I am
content to let an occasional post drift into hyperspace, with not even my
real name attached to it. The bloggers seem to think they rate entire
websites with pictures, and if you mention their ego enhancement they will
typically reply "why, thank you!" "Floggers" (and the world has only one,
thankfully, so far; namely our very own whatzhisname) are an even freakier
sub-subcategory. All of these places are self-constructed fansites with
few if any fans.

Getting back to the subject, "Phil Ossifur" continues to clutter CryoNet
with lame attempts to route discussion traffic to his own blogs and other
sites. And that is all his unnecessary "flog" can be characterized
as. The objective of merely pointing to information can more simply be
achieved by posting the destination URLs directly in a CryoNet post
here. There is no need to make potential readers jump through hoops to get
to them, unless your real motive is to detract from CryoNet as a discussion
forum in and of itself.
