Given the long human life span, definitive information of this type will not suddenly appear, but will accumulate over maybe a hundred year period. > If at that time cryonics will also be a proven technology (e.g., > animals de-animated and re-animated) there may be a rush on our > facilities. Any sudden surge would likely be triggered by a centralized news source. Given the rapid spread of alternative news sources and the loss of credibility of mass media, this becomes less and less likely. A much greater risk is the destabilization of the International nuclear balance as more and more states acquire nuclear weapons. These kinds of systems are stable when only a few actors have weapons and also when most have the weapons. The Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty is being ignored and undermined by the Bush Regime, thus we are seeing a spread of the technology to more and more states. There already have been situations where we were one word away from a nuclear war and the risk is now increasing. dss David Stodolsky Skype: davidstodolsky Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=28519
