Subject: Liver grown

The following article from an on-line science magazine says British

researchers have grown a small artificial human liver from umbilical cord stem
cells.
They expect transplanteble versions in five years.

Since one of our hopes is that if we can just preserve brains then the rest
of the body can be regrown, this is good news and great progress. So far, only
bladders have been grown (and maybe the cartiledge for ears etc.). But
bladders are simply a membrane, while the liver does very complex chemical
reactions. Let's hope this is as good as it sounds.
