X-Message-Number: 28739 From: Kennita Watson <> Subject: Hypertonic Saline (HTS) Date: Wed, 13 Dec 2006 14:07:39 -0800 This (long) article, at http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/548015 , requires a Medscape login, but I've had one for years and it's never caused me a problem. I get the Neurology Medpulse once a week, and this article came across today: Administering Hypertonic Saline to Patients With Severe Traumatic Brain Injury I don't know how much use this might be to cryonics patients or patients-soon-to-be, but this sentence caught my eye: "HTS is attractive as a resuscitation fluid because it can help achieve hemodynamic stabilization, which can optimize brain perfusion." I wonderful if it might be useful in cryonic stabilization, or in hospice situations.
