And funny. The idea that I don't have the nerve to speak in front of an audience of serious people with serious questions is laughable. I have run for office, both federal and Statewide, on the Libertarian ticket many times, most notably as a candidate for the California Secretary of State, and have had to answer quite a few serious questions from serious people -- in person, on the radio, and in taped TV interviews. Often, as a Libertarian, I was on the unpopular side of issues. AND -- hear me now -- IT WAS FUN!!! I love talking to people, telling them what I know, and (which is very important) I don't mind admitting when I don't know something. I also enjoy talking to them one-on-one, because I can get a better feel for what's on their minds; that is the appeal of the Frozen Dead Guy Days. The decision to sign up or not sign up for cryonics is a very personal one, and the objections raised to it in any given person's mind may be (at least at the beginning) too amorphous or subconscious to be addressed by a generic presentation. I guess I find it a far-fetched theory that someone's theory that I'm not courageous is far-fetched ;-) . Nerve, I got. And, for our studio audience ;-) : BTW, I know that for many people, speaking in front of an audience is a fate worse than death. You're welcome to talk, if you want, but if you'd rather just help with setting up the booth, watch it while I go potty, hand people forms, or even check out the other events, feel free -- I'm happy to do most of the talking. Remember, I've this alone before (and with a little help another time). Of course, I'd appreciate any help, of whatever kind you're prepared to offer, and more people in the room means less expense for everyone.
