Oh Charles, I can't help but love you -- you're so earnest
and concerned. And funny. The idea that I don't have the
nerve to speak in front of an audience of serious people
with serious questions is laughable. I have run for office,
both federal and Statewide, on the Libertarian ticket many
times, most notably as a candidate for the California
Secretary of State, and have had to answer quite a few
serious questions from serious people -- in person, on the
radio, and in taped TV interviews. Often, as a Libertarian,
I was on the unpopular side of issues. AND -- hear me now --
IT WAS FUN!!! I love talking to people, telling them what
I know, and (which is very important) I don't mind admitting
when I don't know something. I also enjoy talking to them
one-on-one, because I can get a better feel for what's on
their minds; that is the appeal of the Frozen Dead Guy
Days. The decision to sign up or not sign up for cryonics
is a very personal one, and the objections raised to it in
any given person's mind may be (at least at the beginning)
too amorphous or subconscious to be addressed by a generic
presentation.

I guess I find it a far-fetched theory that someone's theory
that I'm not courageous is far-fetched ;-) . Nerve, I got.

And, for our studio audience ;-) :
BTW, I know that for many people, speaking in front of
an audience is a fate worse than death. You're welcome
to talk, if you want, but if you'd rather just help
with setting up the booth, watch it while I go potty,
hand people forms, or even check out the other events,
feel free -- I'm happy to do most of the talking.
Remember, I've this alone before (and with a little
help another time). Of course, I'd appreciate any help,
of whatever kind you're prepared to offer, and more
people in the room means less expense for everyone.

Live long and prosper,
Kennita
