Since we are vitally interested in preserving bio-matter 
(ourselves) permanently maybe this should go hand in hand with 
the usage of extremely hard and indefinitely durable materials. 
Here is a video about the development of new metal alloys, which 
are substantially harder than steel but are claimed to be as 
workable as plastics, apparently the trick with metallic glass is 
to shock-cool the alloy rapidly to prevent the development of 
crystallisation (sounds familiar?)

developed alloys, which allow slow cooling without forming
