Hi again.

To Mr. Metzgar:

Your input was helpful because it did give one other way in which we might
have universality (or near universality) in members being able to receive
images from Cryonet. However it also suggests that there may be no universal
answer -- unless the member concerned is willing to learn even a bit about
another software, or else pay additional money. Up until a few months ago,
for instance, I did not own or have direct access to a laserwriter Postscript
printer of any kind. Yes, I could access one, for a fee plus a bit of travel.
I now own my very own laserwriter, and it takes Postscript. This fact, though,
doesn't help those who do not, or those who have a laserwriter of a kind which
does not understand Postscript.

It does suggest that if we are really to transmit images, then Kevin --- perhaps
with help from me or other people familiar with computers --- would have to
redesign his system (a little). It could be arranged (given that it is almost
automatic) that users CHOOSE whether they want Postscript or GIF files. If
that is not true, we'd have to settle on just one.

As I said in my last message, I would like to hear from other people on

Cryonet about what kind of image transmission method they would suggest.
Ideallythey wouldn't just tell me their PERSONAL preference, but try to give
some
method accessible by all or over 90% of those on this forum, and if it not
accessible, one easy to obtain. And naturally that makes the problem harder!
