I realize that people may suspect me of shilling for Dave Pizer, considering
that I've worked for him for 16 years. But on my own initiative I can
testify that Arizona's central high desert (4000 ft elevation and above) has
a livable climate. Mayer usually runs about 10-15 degrees F cooler in the
summer than Phoenix, and it gets substantially cooler than Phoenix at night
because of radiative cooling and the lack of the urban heat island effect
operating in the big city. We also have much better air quality.

In the winter we often get freezing temperatures at night and occasionally
even some snow which melts off by the afternoon.

Somebody must find this area desirable, considering all the trucks I see
hauling prefab houses and building materials up from the valley.
