RE: Cybersilenced by the Googleminder

I've suggested it in other forums and lists before, and I still think
it's a good idea: eliminate the GoogleBots by moving the archives
behind a login screen. Most people who really want to read them
wouldn't mind logging in to do so. Registration could be automated
fairly well and minimal personal information gathered. The login
access requirement would keep out spiders.

There are plenty of non-CryoNet resources on a Google search these
days (combine Alcor's website and CI's website and ACS's website and
you have most of what you need - I know I did) for the curious or
prospective cryonauts. Forums and free-for-alls are best kept away
from the spiders.

Yes, uneloquent and misguided individuals can still create havoc with
their own web sites and terrorize public boards and Wiki sites, but
the more protection we have for the forums, the less potential
exposure we give them (and the more we can get hissy and catty about
them here without the general public thinking we're a bunch of soap
opera drama queens ;) ) and the more freedom we lend to genuine,
intelligent, open discussions.
