Depending on the world and how totalitarian it has become, there may be more or fewer choices offered -- various psychological quirks may be edited out as criminal (think Demolition Man). Some choices might require *significant* psychological adjustment, such as whether or not you want your consciousness inserted into a physical body (think Vanilla Sky). Then again, you might not be able to tell one way or the other (think The Matrix). Truth be told, I haven't a clue, and I'd better stop thinking about it -- I've spent most of an hour on this message (!). I'll just hang on and try to enjoy whatever of the ride I get to see.
