It is well known that persons who subscribe to this mailing list hold variety of opinions on matters of political philosophy and practice. And starting up an argument here appears to me to be neither useful nor wise. If someone really feels the need for a discussion of politics and cryonics then perhaps the best thing to do is to create a new list dedicated to that topics and those interested can discuss there. Fred I copied Fred Moulton's post above, because I thought someone should provide a small "amen, hallelujah" to this. I went through a similar thought process reading Flavanoid's posting. Most of Flav's postings are pretty good...some very good...but this one was truly lame, displaying a surprising lack of understanding that libertarians PROMOTE property rights, including intellectual property. (Okay...except when they don't, c'mon, you folks who have ripped Bill Gate's IP know who you are. LOL. :)) On the other hand, political sniping IS kind of fun! But not as much fun as sniping at superstitions and large cults calling themselves "religions." But this has also been (perhaps wisely) disencouraged on this bulletin board. So, gee whiz, I guess we should discuss Cryonics! How about a discussion of the possible date the first human resuscitation will place? And/or a discussion of when we will have the first dog, cat, rat, or bunny back from cryonic temperatures with full brain functions intact? It is axiomatic...not new agey, but fairly demonstrable...that "WE MOVE INTHE DIRECTION OF OUR DOMINANT THOUGHTS." So, let's give some thought to when cryonics becomes a "real" science with evidence based protocols and clear cut epistomologies. I am going to guess 2018 for our first large mammal. And 2035 for the first human...probably preserved under much more near perfect laboratory conditions than most current cryonicists...to be revived from cryonics temperatures. And I further speculate that some iteration of 21st Century Medicine people will be the one's doing this. Ideas?
